VIOLINIST

Sofia Koupidou began her violin studies at the age of 7 and graduated with honors from the Philippos Nakas Conservatoryin 2017. In 2019, she earned her degree in Music Studies with a focus on Music Pedagogy from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), completing a thesis on historically informed performance, specifically addressing early Baroque violin works under Professor Theodoros Kitsos. In 2021, she received her Violin Diploma from the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Thessaloniki with top honors and 1st prize, under Professor Paraskevi Karagianni.


From 2015 to 2022, she was a permanent member of the Megaro Youth Symphony Orchestra at Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall (MOYSA), participating in over 40 art projects and concerts, many of which were side-by-side performances with distinguished orchestras such as Thessaloniki’s State Symphony Orchestra, Thessaloniki City Symphony Orchestraand the European Union Youth Orchestra, performing in venues like Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, and the Theatre of the Society for Macedonian Studies.

She has also been a regular member of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra, the Early Music Ensemble of the Music Department (AUTh), and the String Ensemble of Philippos Nakas Conservatory. She has participated in opera productions, including Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas and Mozart’s “Don Giovanni at Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall. Additionally, she has performed chamber music concerts as a member of a string quartet and participated in the Young Musicians Cycle Workshop at Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall.

She has also attended masterclasses with renowned musicians such as George Hadjinikos, Christos Kanettis, and Apollo Grammatikopoulos. Since 2017, she has been an esteemed violin instructor at renowned conservatories across Northern Greece, including Philippos Nakas Conservatory (Department of Thessaloniki), New Conservatory of Kozani, and Municipal Conservatories in Thessaloniki.

Since January 2025, she has been a permanent member of BullStrings, the remote recording string ensemble of BullStreet Production Studio in Edessa.
