SIMOS PAPADIMITRIOU

VIOLINIST

Simos Papadimitriou is a violinist with extensive academic and performance experience. He began his violin studies at the age of eight at the Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki under Professor Christos Vasileiadis. He continued his education at the Municipal Conservatory of Polichni, studying with Christos Vasileiadis and Ala Selalmatzidou, while also completing his studies in Harmony under Martha Lazaridou. His training continued at the Municipal Conservatory of Thermi under Professor Maria Spanou, where he also completed his counterpoint studies with Evangelia Kateli. He earned his Violin Diploma with honors at the Northern Greece Conservatory of Thessaloniki under Professor Giorgos Kougioumtzoglou. Since 2023, he has been pursuing studies at the Department of Music Studies at the University of Ioannina under the supervision of Professor Galilaios. Beyond his musical training, he holds a degree in Geology from Aristotle University of Thessalonikiand,

Throughout his career, he has participated in several masterclasses, including the 2nd Summer Academy of Municipal Conservatories in 2013, where he studied under Giorgos Mandyllas and Alberto Martini, as well as the 12th Lefkada Music Week in 2018, where he worked with Dimitris Chandrakis. In 2022, he participated in the 1st Summer Academy of the Municipal Conservatory of Drama (DISMA)and collaborated in chamber music with Dionysios Mallouchos.

Simos has collaborated with esteemed orchestras and conductors, including Polymeneris and the Confuoco Orchestra in 2014, Petros Ristas at the Municipal Conservatory of Polichni Orchestra, Mikis Michailidis and Dimosthenis Fotiadis at the Northern Greece Conservatory Orchestra, and Papadimitris at the Promusica Orchestra in 2016. From 2018 to 2022, he was also a member of the Megaro Youth Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall (MOYSA).

Since 2019, he has been teaching violin at various conservatories in the greater region of Northern Greece, including the Municipal Conservatory of Moudania, the Varvoutio Municipal Conservatory of Ptolemaida, the Municipal Conservatory of Drama, Aristoxenio Conservatory, Northern Greece Conservatory, and Samaras Conservatory.

As an active performer, he is a member of the New Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra and has played at prestigious venues such as the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Komotini’s Concert Hall, and the Ancient Theatre of Philippi in Kavala. Since January 2025, he has been a permanent member of BullStrings, the remote recording string ensemble of BullStreet Production Studio in Edessa.
