DIMITRA KOGIOUMTZIDOU

1ST CHAIR CELLIST - BULLSTRINGS ENSEMBLE DIRECTOR

Dimitra Kogioumtzidou began her cello studies at the Northern Greece Conservatory in 2007, graduating in 2017 with a degree under Professor Ioannis Stefos. In 2021, she graduated from the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki with a Cello Diploma under Professor Giannis Tsitselikis, also participating in Chamber Music Ensembles and the Conservatory’s Symphony Orchestra. She also holds a degree in Agricultural Sciences from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Consulting for Rural Development at the Agricultural University of Athens.

She actively participated in Pelion Festival’s Cello Masterclasses from 2014 to 2019 and has attended several chamber music and cello seminars in Greece and Germany. She has collaborated with and taught by prominent professors, artists, and soloists such as Vassilis Saitis, Angelos Liakakis, Ulrich Voss, Themistoklis Vagenas, Leonidas Kavakos, Elisabeth Furniss, Zoi Zeniodi, and Giorgos Lazaridis. In addition, she was a member of the “Violoncellissimo” Cello Ensemble under Professor Dimitris Patras at the University of Macedonia (winter semester 2014 -2015).

Since 2018, she has been teaching cello, chamber music, and music theory in private and municipal conservatories in Northern Greece, like Filippos Nakas Conservatory in Thessaloniki, Municipal Conservatories of Edessa, and NaousaCities, Polyaneio Conservatory of the Metropolis of Kilkis and Regional Conservatory of Florina, while in the period 2022-2023, she was a substitute professor at the Music School of Giannitsa City.

From 2015 to 2022, she was a permanent member of the Megaro Youth Symphony Orchestra at Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall (MOYSA), participating in over 40 art projects and concerts, many of which were side-by-side performances with distinguished orchestras such as Thessaloniki’s State Symphony Orchestra, Athens’ State Orchestra, El Sistema Turkey and the European Union Youth Orchestra, performing in venues like Thessaloniki’s and Athens’ Concert Halls, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, and Odeon of Herodes Atticus. During this time she collaborated with notable interpreters such as Eleftheria Arvanitaki, TAKIM, Dionisis Savvopoulos, Dimitris Basis, Nikos Portokaloglou, Fotis Siotas, and Thodoris Voutsikakis among many others.

In recent years, she collaborated with the Sinfonietta Hellenica Orchestra in Athens and New Generation Orchestra in Thessaloniki. At the same time, since 2024, she has been a permanent member of the Symphony Orchestra of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, under the direction of Vladimir Simeonidis.

She also has performed, recorded cello, and composed music for distinguished composers and artists such as Panos Topalidis, Manos Mylonakis, Petros Klampanis, Thodoris Papadimitriou, Konstantinos Pavlidis, and Ekaterina Shelehova, and she also contributed to the soundtrack of the 2024 film “Don’t Open the Door” by Unboxholics.

Since January 2025, she has been a permanent member and the Ensemble Director of BullStrings, the remote recording string ensemble of BullStreet Production Studio in Edessa.
